As you know if you read my blogs, I have been struggling with ideas for my new Jack Harris novel, which will be the fourteenth {the thirteenth is currently going through editing and is due out in November}.
An old idea came back to me, a good one, but I had this nagging feeling that I had read it before in another novel. Cursing the author who beat to me; I did some checking – it was me!
It’s one of the perils when you have had a lot of books published – twenty six with the twenty seventh, The Informer, out on September 10, the thirteenth in my DCI John Blizzard series, all published by The Book Folks, a Joffe Books imprint.
You have to keep track of what you write otherwise you end up looking a bit daft, as happened here. As it is, other ideas have come crowding in and I am well away on the new book.
