Following publication day for the latest crime novel featuring Detective Chief Inspector John Blizzard, I will be talking to fellow crime writer Ian Robinson about the challenges presented in writing the book, at a free event in Dumfries and Galloway (details below).
The Informer, the 27th of my books to be published by The Book Folks, a Joffe Books imprint, is the 13th featuring Blizzard and was published on Thursday September 10, 2026)
It is set as usual in the fictional northern England city of Hafton, where a church is in flames, a housing estate is blighted by rioting, hate fills the air, the dead appear to be walking the streets, and a shadowy figure is orchestrating it all.
At the event with Ian, a crime writer who is also published by Joffe Books, the main theme will be ideas, during which I will reveal how troubling reality became an unsettling novel, and how one ideas in particular was the starting point.
