John Dean – Crime Writer

I am deeply saddened to hear of the death at the age of 74 of Scottish crime writer Peter May.

The author, who championed quality description when it seemed to be going out of fashion, wrote about 30 novels and was best known for novels set in Scotland’s Highlands and Islands.

Peter died in France, where he had lived for many years.
